Intercultural Readiness
Prepare Expats for the Intercultural Aspects of the Role in the New Country
We understand

… that expats or their managers may not recognise gaps in personal traits or intercultural skills:
Expats are often chosen for their expertise, and neither they nor their organisations always assess their intercultural readiness. Our approach and development tools help identify and address these gaps for more effective intercultural interactions.

… that expats often lack time for training not directly related to their job:
By sharing your background, experience, job role, and workplace culture, we tailor intercultural knowledge and skills to benefit you, your position, and your organisation’s success.

… that expats need skills and competencies immediately, not later.
Connect us with your expats (and their spouse) and we’ll support them—before departure or after arrival. Our virtual Hit the Ground Running sessions are available anytime, anywhere.

Hit the Ground Running
  • Has the expat been prepared to start living in another country? What about the spouse?
  • Has the expat been prepared to start working in another country? What about the spouse?

During three to four 2.5-hour sessions we prepare expats (and possible spouse) for the upcoming expatriation.

We focus on two aspects:

(1) Living in another country

  • understand what culture is and what parts of culture can be seen and can be changed
  • understand the impact of culture while living in another country
  • understand the real possibility of experiencing culture shock and how to deal with it
  • undertsand the required competence to position and deal with cultural differences
  • understand specific country information: history, politics, religion, geography, economics, language, food, dress, social customes, etc.

(2) Working in another country

  • how to communicate with culturally diverse colleagues, leaders, partners and clients?
  • how to build trust with  culturally diverse colleagues, leaders, partners and clients?
  • how to manage your new multicultural team?
  • how to understand decision making processes in the new work place
  • how to motivate your multicultural team to get the job done?

We apply a range of assessment and tools to help the expat Hit the ground Running e.g.:

  • assess your Cultural Orientation
  • assess your preferred Work practices
  • assess your preferred Communication Type
  • assess your Intercultural Readiness

In short:
Are you ready to live and work in a different country?
We help expats before they leave their present country and/or after they move to the new country to hit the ground running.
